The X-Men franchise made billions from movies, shows, games, and books. The first comic features Professor X, five teens learning how to control their powers (Beast, Angel, Iceman, Cyclops, and Marvel Girl), as well as Magneto. X-comics are one of the first to feature female leads who are shown to be equal to men. They also developed a diverse population that included Africans (Storm), Native Americans (Mirage), and Asians (Jubilee). It’s also interesting that these gifted mutants are guided by a handicapped leader. Despite being paralyzed, Charles Xavier is one of the most influential characters.
